The role of testosterone for socio-sexual behaviours of domestic chicken

Abstract Chicken are social animals that show a variety of sexual and social behaviors frequently associated with various vocalizations. In order to study the role of testosterone for these behaviours we developed an androgen receptor knockout chicken.  The aim of this project is to characterize the behaviour of male and female knockout chicken in social groups using telemetric and video technologies.
