Dr. Mihai Valcu

Main Focus

I am a behavioural ecologist with a strong interest in spatial ecology. I see spatial ecology as a unifying discipline which connects behavioural ecology with community ecology and biogeography. Therefore most of my empirical research is on spatial aspects of reproductive behaviour and life history strategies at both individual, population and community levels. In the field I study aspects of reproductive behaviour connected with territoriality and dispersal in a variety of species. While my applied research is focused on birds I have a broad interest in applied statistics.
